Stephen Schwartz, Doctor of Osteopathy, Sacro-Cranial specialist and Naturopath, came to live in Israel in 2000.  He lived and worked as an Osteopath in the UK, New Zealand and Australia, practicing for over 30 years, and is now a member of the Israeli Osteopathic Association. 

As with most complementary medical practitioners, Stephen’s approach is holistic, encouraging patients to become actively involved in the healing process which is hastened by focusing on personal responsibility and by looking at life-style factors, such as poor nutrition, smoking, physical fitness, anxiety and stress, home and work environment. This holistic approach accepts the interdependence of physical and emotional factors for well-being and the integration of mind, body and spirit as well as the patient’s environment.

Stephen enjoys building a rapport with his patients, who are encouraged to view ill-health or crisis as an opportunity for self-reflection.  As a Naturopath, he believes that a large number of illnesses or imbalances can be improved by eating fresh, natural foods on a daily basis.  Too much salt in our bodies, for instance, can contribute to a range of disorders that can be remedied by consuming foods that are alkaline and neutralize acids in the body.

He has been treating patients in Israel since his arrival 12 years ago.  He has seen hundreds of patients, and has had numerous articles published in Israel and other countries.   In addition to his human Osteopathy practice, Stephen is a lecturer at the Wingate Institute to students studying alternative therapy for animals, and is teaching a course on Equine Osteopathy.   Stephen is a renowned speaker and holds lectures and introductory sessions to various interest groups.  He has a private clinic in Raanana as well as being affiliated with Kupat Holim Leumit in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.  Most private insurances are also accepted.
